Richard Yu has always had clear ideas about Huawei's future and so far the goals set in 2012 have been brilliantly achieved. No wonder, then, that the CEO of the Consumer division has a well-defined vision regarding the future of HONOR, the brand that became independent a few years ago.
The objective, which for the moment has not been given a clear time horizon, is to reach the fourth place among smartphone manufacturers in the world, and second place in China, obviously behind Huawei.
During 2018 HONOR achieved very exciting results, with a growth of 170% compared to 2017 for international sales, and an overall growth of 27.1%. It should also be noted that according to IDC, HONOR was the second brand in the world for online sales.
The HONOR success has certainly also contributed to HONOR 8X, launched in China last September and which has reached 10 million units sold worldwide. To celebrate the important milestone, the smartphone is on sale in China for a limited period of time, at 1,299 yuan, about 172 euros, in the version equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory.
