Tinder wins over one million users in just one year

Tinder's parent company, Match Group on Wednesday reported financial results for the fourth quarter of 2018, revealing that the company earned 1.2 million subscribers last year alone, closing 2018 with $ 805 million in revenue. The total is almost the same as its competitors, which together total $ 872 million.

Match also said that most revenue growth is due to Tinder Gold, which offers additional features to its members, such as more Super Likes per day, search for matches around the world, and more.

Tinder also aims to focus on a younger age group, aged 18-22, through Tinder U. The company is expanding outside the United States, focusing on Japan, India and South Korea.

In addition to Tinder, the entire Match Group is growing. The company recently launched an application called Ship, designed for female users, and also acquired the Hinge app. With the purchase, the downloads increased four times in the last quarter of 2018 compared to the same period of the previous year.

In its earnings report, Match concluded that people use on average four flirting apps at the same time, and it is essential that Tinder be attractive enough for people to pay a certain amount for their single use.
