Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 +
Just in these hours the South Korean producer has started the rollout of a new update for the latest (for now) smartphone flagship Galaxy S series After the arrival of Android 9 Pie and the new One UI , therefore, Galaxy S9 and S9 + come back to update, even if this time of a decidedly less full-bodied and interesting update.
In fact, net of what is reported in the changelog, it seems that the news will stop only to the security patches of January 2019, while probably still have to wait to see the front camera improve.
The new firmware versions that the update brings for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + are respectively the G960FXXU2CSA2 and the G965FXXU2CSA2 and the update weighs about 130 MB .
30 of the fixes are those of the Google patches for the Android operating system, while the other 4 come directly from Samsung and mainly concern the WiFi and the Exynos 9810 SoC.
Samsung reports, in addition to security patches, also a series of improvements regarding not only the general performance of the device, but also the front camera. The fact is that the same changelog has already been repeated several times in the past and it is therefore quite likely that there is no real news for the camera.
The new update is coming via OTA for the non-brand versions of Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 +, it follows that for the branded models the patches of January could be included in the expected update to Android 9 Pie.
Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018)
Not only top of the range: even for the decidedly cheaper Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) the rollout of the update including the security patches of January 2019 started a few hours ago. Samsung Galaxy J4 passes to the firmware version J400MUBU2ARL3.
The content of the January update is the same as already illustrated by Samsung a few days ago. The rollout is for now Peru, Bolivia, Panama, Brazil, Colombia, and Chile, but will soon reach all the other markets where the device is marketed and is already available in the database SamMobile.
