Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge receive the January 2019 security patche

Samsung Galaxy S7 and  Samsung Galaxy S7 edge are receiving a new software update in Europe that includes the security patches of January 2019. The update is also touching Italy, so within a few days, it will be available to everyone.

The new update is in fact being distributed in Italy and Europe and introduces the security patches of January 2019, the latest (for the moment) distributed by Google; there does not seem to be any other relevant changes besides the new patches, except for the usual bug fixes.

Despite the fact that the devices were released almost three years ago, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are continuing to receive continuous updates of security, a sign of how the manufacturer takes this aspect and wants to try to "retain" customers. The update in question is in rollout via OTA and weighs 335.23 MB.

To find out manually if the update can be downloaded and installed on your smartphone you just have to go to settings, software updates, download updates manually. Keep in mind that the rollout is gradual and the update may take a few days before it is available for your sample.
