Google Launches Inclusive Internship Program for Black Youth

Google has just announced the Next Step project, which aims to make the company more inclusive and guarantee equal opportunities for all.

In the project, fluency in English will not be required as a minimum hiring requirement. "It is estimated that less than 5% of the Brazilian population speak a second language and that percentage is significantly lower among young blacks," the statement said.

The chosen trainees will go through the development of their professional skills, participating in an interactive English course within the office itself. The youth will also have a support network composed of several groups that will carry out mentoring and coaching.

There will be 20 trainees selected for a two-year program, and in the end they will be able to work in sales, marketing, human resources, financial, among others. The selection process will feature face-to-face meetings and interviews with Google teams. The course finishes between July and December 2021.

The vacancies are available for students from the greater São Paulo and the registrations can be made until the 22 of February in the site of the external consultancy Empodera.
