'Google Coral' gives in sights on tests with Snapdragon 855 and Android Q

It was already at the end of 2018 that we saw the first Android smartphone to be presented with the new processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Since then, there have already been several smartphones indicated with this processor. After all, this will surely be the top-of-the-range election processor in 2019.

Now we see an alleged Google device being tested on the Geekbench, using Snapdragon 855 for the first time with the yet to be introduced Android Q. This alleged 'Google Coral' has come up in tests multiple times, so it should not be a new smartphone.

Still, this is the first time we see the Android Q in action. Considering that it should still be in a development phase away from the final product, its results are quite impressive.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 back to surprise, now tested by Google with Android Q

I remind you that any smartphone, or operating system that comes up with performance testing during these development stages, is far from optimized. Thus, it is virtually guaranteed that you will not be able to achieve the best results possible.

With that in mind, Android Q scores with the Snapdragon 855 are impressive. In the single-core tests managed to reach 3,296 points and in the multi-core tests  9,235 points.

Just as the GSMArena said, when compared to the performance of the current Moutain View company smartphone, it already represents a 10% improvement in both tests. Since the unit to be tested will not be optimized, an even more visible improvement will be expected.
