All new camera features in iOS 12

Apple iOS 12 contains several new camera functions. However, they are not in the Camera app itself. Now you can do a selfie with your favorite Animoji characters, use new filters or apply Memoji on your face. However, none of these functions can be found in the Camera application. All of them are in the camera Posts.

1. Memoji

Apple iOS Memoji

In iOS 12, you can create animated characters in the Animoji style with your appearance. Moreover, you can impose them on your face for a selfie! The function is available in the camera in Messaging.

Open the Messages application, select the dialog, click the camera icon, and then on the new star icon. Select the Animoji icon and then your Memoji. The character will be superimposed on your face. You can choose and the character Animoji and turn yourself into a unicorn or monkey. In addition, the character will repeat your face expression in real time.

It is a pity that this function is not available in the Camera application. Perhaps its support will be added to iOS 13, but for now you can save photos in the form of screenshots.

2. New filters

Say goodbye to the Snapchat and Prisma applications. Now in the Messages are also available new camera filters. Clicking on the effects icon, select Filters, and switch between available app.

3. Stickers, text, pictures

On the same screen with effects, press the "??" button to add text. You can also add pictures to the photo. There will also be available applications with stickers. Select any of them to see available stickers, and then add the one you like on the photo.

4. Selection of QR codes

In the Camera application, QR code scanning has been improved. You can click on the Camera icon using the 3D Touch and select the option to scan the code. A scan icon is also available for the Control Point. In addition, QR codes are now highlighted by the application for easy scanning.

5. Portrait light

In iOS 12, new effects of portrait light are available (but they can be exclusive only for iPhone XS). The function itself was also improved. The edges of objects are found better, especially in black and white.
