It is an incremental update that will improve the security of your device. Note that every month Google engineers compile an update of this genre. They are small (or large) patches with vulnerability patches and security optimizations. Now, the month of March arrives also the respective update.
The update weighs a total of 132MB and is being gradually distributed. Note that you will arrive at Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 at roughly the same time. Anyway, as is the case in any update over OTA ( over the air ) its availability always varies from area to area/region.
Nokia is thus the second manufacturer to upgrade its smartphones after Huawei has already updated its devices as well. The first is, of course, Google that has already made this update for their Google Pixel. To all these smartphones will arrive the same update, the same March security patch.
Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 receive new Android update
The update was announced by Juho Sarkivas through his Twitter. The product manager of HMD Global would announce the arrival of these news very recently. However, this new software package is already reaching different regions and countries. Here we have the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Greece, Tunisia, Germany, etc. The global distribution of this update has also been enhanced by Nokia PowerUser.
You can check the availability of this update in Settings - System Updates. Either way, it will now be a matter of time until you receive the available update notification on your Nokia 5 or Nokia 6.
The availability of another update of the Android operating system for the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 reveals much about the commitment of the brand. Commitment not to disappoint your consumers I hope all Android manufacturers are so fast as regards updates.
Finally, HMD Global has not revealed any specific details or features that might be on the way to their smartphones. That said, in addition to enhancing security we do not have more news for these Android devices. Remember to download the new software package via Wi-Fi.
