New iPad Pro debuts on WWDC, but iPhone will have to wait until autumn
Despite a number of assumptions that Apple this year will change the order of press releases and release a new iPhone model earlier than usual, the report Economic Daily News (Taiwan) reports that the iPad Pro will be the only mobile devices introduced in the first half of the year. In particular, we are talking about an updated 12.9-inch iPad Pro and a completely new 11-inch iPad Pro. This will happen at WWDC 2018, which will be held in June .
Sources say that the new iPad Pro will have a more subtle framework than previous models, processors A11X and support for Face ID. The latter may also mean rejecting the "Home" button. The analyst at Rosenblatt Securities, June Zhang, said about the same thing last week - and Economic Daily News refers to this in the report.
There are rumors about the second generation iPhone SE , which could announce at WWDC this summer, but analysts believe that Apple will not show new smartphones until the second half of the year. Note that the analyst KGI Min-Chi Kuo in January expressed doubts about the release of the iPhone SE 2, because this will require too many resources.
In addition, Apple is reportedly preparing two new models of the iPhone with OLED displays for the autumn release. Together with them will be announced and the version with a 6.1-inch LCD-screen. Given that the company is already working on three iPhones, it is unlikely that it will release another fourth in 2018.
