Google intends to speed up the Internet

Google has seriously engaged in the issue of speeding up the download of web content. In 2016, the search giant launched Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) technology, which significantly accelerates the download of sites on mobile devices. For this, advanced methods of caching, forecasting and preloading of content are used. Sites with AMP support open in a split second. Now, Google wants to speed up the work of the entire Internet.

The Google development team, responsible for AMP technology, announced the creation of new web standards that allow instant downloading of web content without using AMP.
"Based on what we learned from AMP, we are ready to take the next step and work on supporting instantly downloadable content in Google search," the company's blog says.

First of all, the new standards will be applied to the sites that are displayed in the search, as the most relevant ones. To do this, the content should meet a number of criteria for performance and user experience.

When one expects the introduction of new technologies - not reported.
