Xiaomi simultaneously develops and releases several versions of MIUI:

The Xiaomi Firmware Updater application automatically tracks the output of all firmware and downloads them to the development server in the form of a ZIP-archive, ready for installation through custom recovery. This allows owners of Xiaomi devices with custom firmware to quickly and easily update to the most current version of MIUI at any time.
