Samsung Galaxy S9: Exynos 9810 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 845

For several years, Samsung has equipped several variants of its devices with a Qualcomm Snapdragon, while other variants receive an Exynos. Now, we can already gauge the differences in scores between the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 vs the Exynos 9810. These will be the "engines" of the Samsung Galaxy S9.

It's not exactly new that Exynos processors get a slightly better performance and score than the Qualcomm. For the simple fact that any and all Samsung Galaxy have their hardware optimized for the processors made by itself (its Exynos).

Think about the example of Apple in which the processor and the smartphone are developed as one. Sharing all the base between them and enjoying a global optimization so that each component works in the best way. Not to mention the software optimized for the hardware and vice versa. Here Apple is a case apart. An example of success, one understands.

Now, for the Samsung Galaxy S9, it seems that the brand maintains the tradition of using Snapdragon 845 for America and China. Already in Europe we will receive the version with the Exynos 9810. But how do you compare these two new processors at the scoring level?

Note that scoring alone does not translate into better performance in real life. These are numbers obtained under controlled laboratory conditions. Artificially created conditions to gauge the total power of each equipment or each component tested. It should also be noted that both processors have very similar specifications to each other.

Now, according to the leakster Ice Universe (source who has already brought us various information about the brand). This source claims that the above results illustrate the Samsung Galaxy S9's performance with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. According to this leakster, the Geekbench performance shows us "mediocre" results and we should expect a more powerful variant soon.

Now, I do not know how to deceive by the adjective "mediocre." For all intents and purposes, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 will be one of the best "engines" of the year. According to the results of Geekbench had here a score of 2378 for isolated cores. Already in the overall assessment had 8132. This way, it outperforms the Exynos 8895 that equips the Galaxy S8 and S8 +. The processor that obtained 1771 and 5676 points, respectively. As a rule, Geekbench is a good source of information on benchmark scores. Unfortunately, this Geekbench screenshot does not reveal the model number in question. This important part is deliberately omitted. Something that leaves us with some doubts as to the authenticity of the information.

It should also be noted that we have not yet seen any scores, no Exynos 9810 benchmark test results to be shared on the Internet. We believe that this is much more powerful than the current generation in the S8 but for now, we have no proof.

At this moment our advice is to abstain already form judgments of value on the competition between Exynos 9810 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. Anyway, as soon as the Samsung Galaxy S9 is presented we will be able to undo our doubts.
