Vitalik Buterin, the creator of the world's second most valuable crypto-currency, said on Saturday (17) that digital currencies are still "hyper volatile" and that they can "fall to zero at any moment."
The 24-year-old Russian-Canadian programmer, the founder of the Ethereum currency, comes at a time of high volatility from Bitcoin, the largest and most well-known crypto-currency on the market.
Still according to Buterin, people interested in virtual currencies "should not" invest more than they can afford to lose in this type of asset.
" If you're trying to figure out where to store your life's savings, traditional investments are still your safest bet," he wrote in a "reminder" of his Twitter account.
Earlier this month, Bitcoin fell for the first time below $ 8,000 since November last year. The currency rehearsed a return and rose above $ 10,000 this week. Currently, the currency is priced at $ 10,703. Ethereum, for its part, is priced at $ 967.16.
This is risky though.
