The Borealis development team gave all fans of the Half-Life 2 series hope for the release of the long-awaited third episode. It all began in August when ex-scriptwriter Valve Mark Leidlow published his version of the script and not released Episode 3 in public. Then many fans decided to take matters into their own hands and began independently to create continuations of Half-Life 2. In most cases, these were small fashion, so the Project Borealis stood out against their background at least its scale.
Team Project Borealis, which includes Russian programmers and even former employees of the company Obsidian Entertainment, announced that they wrote their version of the script Episode 3 since the version published by Mark Leidlow was not detailed enough. They also established the work of artificial intelligence, weapons and showed 3D models of some characters from the game. By the way, the project is developed not on the Source engine, like the original Half-Life 2, but on Unreal Engine 4. The enthusiasts explain their choice by the simplicity of working with the solution from Epic.
Half-Life 2: Episode 3 of Project Borealis has no release date yet, but the developers promise to continue sharing their successes and progress.
