These new processors (SoC's) of the Samsung Exynos 5 line will be the "engines" of the next generation of mid-range smartphones. In 2018 be prepared to start seeing the first batch of devices with these new processors. Incidentally, the first device to be equipped with this same processor from South Korea will be the Meizu M6s.

Samsung Exynos 5, the mid-range "engines"
Particularly captivating within the new Samsung Exynos 5 range is the Exynos 7872. This SoC has a total of 6 processing cores. We have here 4 CPU's Cortex-A53 with a maximum frequency of 1.6GHz for the simplest tasks, they are the nuclei that less energy consume. On the other hand, we also have 2 CPU's Cortex-A73 high-performance. These with a maximum frequency of 2GHz.
In the graphics department, we have here the Mali-G71MP1 in addition to a modem capable of providing LTE Cat.7 speeds for data traffic. More specifically, 300Mbps at download speeds and up to 150Mbps at upload speeds.
The South Korean technology does not mention support for a dual photosensor but this new processor supports a maximum of 21.7MP. The maximum value of front camera and rear camera. You can even record video up to 120 fps in Full-HD.
Finally, this new processor Exynos 5 (7872) has a lithography (construction) at 14nm that promises a performance capable of doubling the numbers of its direct predecessor. Hopefully to see as soon as the first smartphones hit the market with this new "engine."
