OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5 receive new Open Beta update

Users of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T received a new version of Open Beta for their Android devices this morning. This is already the second update of the Open Beta versions this month and this time although the list of novelties is smaller, nor does it cease to be crucial.

Especially for anyone who was worried about their privacy, in the course of the controversy surrounding the "Clipboard" on Android. In question would be the alleged sending of information to a server in China. However, the brand categorically denied each of these allegations. However, he would not stop there and end the matter now.

The Chinese manufacturer decided to remove the evil by the root and end with the application Clipboard. This, despite being inactive in OxygenOS (global ROM), could give rise to doubts in the customers of the brand. Subject that we had already explained here at 4gnews. Now, for the sake of clarity, the application is eliminated from Open Beta.

Open Beta is the test ROM, the Beta version, the compilation that is being tested by any interested user. All this so that through your OnePlus 5 and / or OnePlus 5T you can help the brand identify the errors and even develop solutions to these  bugs . In short, to provide some  much needed feed-back.

Looking at the list of official changes, the  official changelog we can see that here the biggest news is even the removal of the system application called Clipboard. It was this that was causing some consumer fears to allegedly be saving the information present on the Android Clipboard. You can also find all the download links here , in the downloads area on the official OnePlus website.

The list then comes up short and with just a few bug fixes, optimizations and the application of a new  security patch , the CVE-2017-13218 for the CPU. This is a very interesting thing considering this vulnerability that you want to fix on Android.

  • Added care gesture

  • Added the function of SMS's categorized in India

  • Removing the recognized phone function in India

Android system

  • Full Screen Gesture Support

  • Removing the Clipboard application at the root of the Android system
