Nokia 3310 4G is official with Wi-Fi connectivity

The new incarnation of the mythical Nokia 3310 arrived us almost a year ago. It was in the 2017 edition of the Mobile World Congress that Nokia and HMD Global brought us the rebirth of one of the most iconic handsets of the 1990s. Now is the time to get to know the new Nokia 3310 4G with some news, including Wi-Fi connection.

The launch of the Nokia 3310 a year ago in Barcelona was a clear bet on nostalgia for those who once had a mobile phone like this. After all, and as you can see in our review at the end of this article, it is not prepared for the current requirements of the mobile market.

Despite some interesting news, such as a new colour display and a 2MP rear camera, this Nokia 3310 offers us nothing more than its original version of the 90's. It remains a perfect mobile phone for those who want nothing more than which ordinary tasks like calls, messages, calendar, snake and little else.

Nokia 6 receives Android Oreo stable update

Still, after a few months, HMD Global has given us a new version of this handset with 3G connectivity. Now, at the turn of the new year, we have the promised 4G version. This was already being spoken a few months ago and behold today it becomes official.

This Nokia 3310 4G does not change aesthetically against its predecessors. The small changes you make are inside. We now have a new operating system, YunOS, but that will not allow you to use anything more than the one that comes installed from the factory.

The most interesting news is in its new ability to connect to the internet. In addition to supporting LTE 4G networks, this new Nokia 3310 also comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n connection. What's more, this will allow you to set this phone as an extra access point to the internet, just like you can on any smartphone.

This new Nokia 3310 4G will go on sale in early February. In the first phase, it will be a Chinese exclusive but with a high probability that it can later be commercialized globally. As for prices, the values are not yet known but it will be a matter of time until they are released. In the remaining specifications, we have everything that was already present in previous versions. We have a 2.4-inch color screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of internal memory that can be expanded via microSD card, a 2MP rear camera and a 1200mAh battery.
