Hackers launched the first pirated game on the PlayStation 4

The first working pirate game for Sony PlayStation 4 appeared on the web. Recently a utility designed to bypass the protection of PS4 was published, the author of which stated that it was not designed to run illegal programs. However, enthusiasts still found a way to use a tool that allows you to run any code on the console and make changes to the system at the kernel level for jailbreaking. But, as usual, there is a nuance.

 

It consists in the fact that the owners of PS4 with the current software version 5.03 will not be able to run pirated games. The tool is still compatible only with obsolete firmware 4.05, because it uses the vulnerability only in this version of the software (fixed in patch 4.06). The authors of the modified utility state that projects that require 4.06 or higher will not be able to run at all with the exploit in question. The main difficulty in this case is that you can not roll back the firmware to an older version on the PS4. That's why only those who have only played offline since the moment of purchasing the console will be able to enjoy the forbidden fruit of piracy.
