Google Pixelbook is now compatible with the Fuchsia OS

Over the past few years, Google has been working on a new operating system called Fuchsia OS. The details around it are still very scarce, and there is still much to discover. Throughout this development process, the Mountain View company has been using laptops like Acer Switch Alpha 3 or Intel NUC. But from now on also your Google Pixelbook is part of this range.

The development of the new Fuchsia OS goes back to the year 2016. Since then we have heard here and there about this new operating system. One of the things that makes this Fuchsia OS unique is the fact that it is not based on Linux but rather on the Zircon kernel.

The fact that a specific kernel is being used for its development means a greater range of potentialities for the Fuchsia OS. In this way, it will be able to run universally on multiple devices, be it a computer, smartphone or tablet. That is, the same OS capable of adapting to any equipment.

Google Pixelbook is already being tested in the development of the new Fuchsia OS

This was noted after a page was created in which we have all the necessary instructions for installing Fuchsia OS on this computer. You will need to put the Pixelbook in programmer mode and only then can we install the Fuchsia OS from a USB PEN. If you are interested in trying this OS, all the necessary steps are here, on Github. Now, as the Android Police website advances, the search giant has added its Google Pixelbook to the target device list of the Fuchsia OS. This means that the same will be compatible with the latest laptop of the company.

What does this decision mean by Google? It should be noted that this is not proof that Fuchsia OS will replace Chrome OS. This just proves that Google wants to make sure that its new software will be able to run on top devices, as is the case with the Pixelbook.
