For a long time, there was a lull in the area of jailbreaking, but then Ian Bir released his exploit "tfp0", and everything changed.
For the first time there was even not one, but several tools for jailbreak iOS 10 and iOS 11. These are great news, but now users are easily confused. Many often wonder which jailbreak is best for iOS 10, and which one for iOS 11. It depends on your version of iOS.
Today, we will take a closer look at all available applications for jailbreak iOS 10 - iOS 10.3.3, to introduce you to the course.
Meridian
Meridian is a semi-tied jailbreak for iOS 10.3.x, created by hacker and developer Ben Sparks. The application's IPA file can be downloaded to the device via Cydia Impactor. It supports the following 64-bit devices:
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
iPhone 6S and iPhone 6s Plus
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
iPhone SE
iPhone 5S
iPad Air 1 and iPad Air 2
iPad (2017)
iPad Mini 2, iPad mini 3 and iPad mini 4
iPad Pro 1 and iPad Pro 2 (12.9 "and 9.7")
iPod Touch 6 generation
Jailbreak uses the KPPless technique. In order to remove the limitations of Apple (which is essentially a jailbreak), you need to access the code and make changes to it. This is called the bypass technique of KPP. However, Meridian uses a new technique - KPPless. With its help, the code can be changed very imperceptibly.
Cydia has not yet been upgraded to KPPless, so the Meridian does not support jailbreak.
G0blin is a semi-tied jailbreak for iOS 10.3.x hacker and Sticktron developer. Its IPA file is also loaded via Cydia Impactor. The tool supports iOS 10.3.1, iOS 10.3.2 and iOS 10.3.3. It also must work with older versions of iOS 10. Jailbreak supports the following 64-bit devices:
H3lix is a semi-tied jailbreak for iOS 10.x from the famous hacker tihmstar. It loads as usual through Cydia Impactor. Jailbreak supports iOS 10.3.3 - iOS 10. However, only the following 32-bit devices are supported: iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPad 4 generations.
The tool uses the exploit "v0rtex", based on the exploit of Ian Bir for iOS 11.
This is the first jailbreak for iOS 10. Sometimes it's called YaluX or yalu + mach_portal. Yalu is a semi-tied jailbreak for iOS 10.2 and below, created by Luke Todesco. It supports the following 64-bit devices:
G0blin, Yalu and Saïgon are the only tools with support for Cydia and Cydia Substrate, so it's very easy to install jailbreak applications and tweaks with them.
