Android Oreo 8.1 brings new problem to Google Pixel and Nexus

Currently one of the unlock mechanisms of the smartphone is the biometric sensor or fingerprint reader. A practical method, with evidence given over the years. Although Apple has recently been popularizing an alternative. Facial recognition. Even so, I bet the largest of users of the Nexus and Google Pixel continue to use a fingerprint to unlock their devices, already with Android Oreo.

This same Android Oreo 8.1 that came to fix some bugs or bugs that were ravaging both devices. Unfortunately, it came to bring so many. Or at least one particularly annoying bug that is being reported in the official forums of American technology.

According to the source, several users of Google Pixel and Google Nexus are having difficulties in something as crucial as making a  swipe on the screen lock. To wake the screen and exit this lock screen, Android Oreo 8.1 is not letting users access their devices in the usual way.

Android Oreo 8.1 brought new problem to Google Pixel and Nexus

Google is already aware of the problem and is preparing solutions. Here the main problem is the need to make a  total swipe on the screen so that the menu appears where you can by your password or PIN code to unlock the screen.

Fortunately, I think most users are already using the fingerprint sensor to unlock their device. For all of these users, Android Oreo 8.1 will not affect their common mode of use for the device itself.

These issues are also being reported through the Google Product Forums, Google Issue Tracker, and even the Reddit platform. In all these places the complaints are accumulating. The case is far from isolated and seems to affect all Pixel and Nexus devices that have received Android Oreo 8.1.

We can only hope that American technology will find a solution quickly. Until then the remedy is also easy. Just use the fingerprint sensor or biometric reader. Alternatively, you'll need to make a full slide to get your smartphone unlock the window.
