So there will not be Snapdragon 836 chips as rumors before.
Qualcomm will launch an updated version of the Snapdragon 835 processor by the end of 2017. Some high-end smartphones have been released around the clock, including Pixel 2 and Google's Pixel 2 XL, is expected to integrate the Snapdragon 836 upgrade.
However, according to the latest report, Qualcomm has no plans to develop the Snapdragon 836 processor and will be available later this year. So, the Snapdragon 835 is the only choice of high-end smartphones coming out at the end of the year.

Rumors have surfaced that Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 836 chip, but Qualcomm later retracted that the screen-less smartphone will still be equipped with the familiar Snapdragon 835 chip.
Qualcomm is expected to launch new mobile processors in Q4 2017, but it will be mid-range and low-cost chips.
Qualcomm's next high-end chips will be the Snapdragon 845 and launched in early 2018. Samsung Galaxy S9 will be the first smartphone to be equipped with this chip.
