The
DESIGN
The Moto E4 Plus has a design almost identical to other Moto mid-range and low-end, which is a plus. In metallic gray, light blue or gold, the finish predominates the metal with little presence of plastic, has curved corners; a rear camera that does not protrude and a frontal fingerprint reader that allows like all the new range of Moto, navigate menus, perform actions and use as a cursor the pad of the footprint.
When we take it in the hand it feels heavy and big. With a weight of 198 grams, Motorola is looking to offer a design that approaches its premium range, is resistant and also offers outstanding performance for its price. And it does it in the great majority, except for its weight. The Moto E4 Plus is at first glance impeccable if you do not mind having a thick team. This does not affect their performance.
SCREEN
The Moto E4 Plus features a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It is not Full HD and it shows since in low light environments the definition is not excellent, but only correct. Despite its large size, the screen does not excel in any category. But to be a mid/low-end team it works great. It is not its best feature but it fulfills its mission if one does not look for the spectacular when it comes to seeing photos or videos.
UNDER THE CAPOT
The Moto E4 Plus retains the same characteristics as the Moto E4. Includes a Quadcore 1.3 GHz Cortex A53 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Front camera of 5 megapixels and rear camera of 13 MP. It also has a fingerprint reader, which is located on the bottom front of the phone. This feature puts him above almost all his competitors and is one of his best qualities. It also has FM Radio but does not have NFC or wireless charging, although it would be a miracle to find these features at this price.
The reader may react a little slow in its successive uses. It works accurately by recognizing the fingerprints, but the performance of the equipment does not accompany it. In other words, it takes about 2 or 3 seconds for the device to turn on the screen when using the fingerprints, which is an expected time for your range. The detector works correctly, which is another plus.
BATTERY
One of the best features of the Moto E4 Plus is its incredible 5000 mAh battery. In constant use we lasted an impressive 20 hours, all with an intensive use. With moderate use, it can be up to 2 days. This great battery makes the computer-heavy and really feels the extra weight. But it is a price that can be paid to not have to charge the equipment battery at any time.
SOFTWARE
The Moto E4 Plus features Android 7.1.1 Nougat and works flawlessly. All functions are seamlessly integrated and respond very well. The operating system of the last generation is another of the points in favor and add much to the final result. As Motorola has us accustomed, the team feels pure Android (almost) and that makes it much faster than other Android. Something to note is that it has a fast charging system, but it does not come with the Turbo Power charger.
CAMERA
The camera of the Moto E4 Plus gives us photos of medium quality. In well-lit and outdoor settings, the camera highlights its best capabilities and even surprises that we are facing a camera of its category. In places with low illumination the story is different, the photos are blurry and without many definitions. At the end of the day the photos are of a quality that does not stand out, but they do. It comes with 13 mp in the rear, with f / 2.0, autofocus, dual LED flash, HDR, Panorama, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, 720p @ 30fps video while the front has a better angle with 5mpx f / 2.2 and a great addition: front LED flash.
CONCLUSION
The new Moto E4 Plus is one of the best options between mid-range and medium/low-end equipment. Its battery that will last us a day of intensive use, its reader of fingerprints and its impeccable design are all points in its favor. It is a very good buy if we want a mid-range equipment with some characteristics of higher ranges, and without doubt is a light year's improvement over the Moto E3.
