Confirmed / After announcing that its users with more followers were hacked, Instagram announced the release of the desktop version of the popular Stories. With this new function, the social network that now belongs to Facebook aims to expand its presence in international markets, where mobile internet service is often expensive and inconsistent.
Through a post in its official blog, Instagram announced that the desktop version for computers and laptops of Instagram Stories will be visible from any conventional web browser. The new function will be implemented in "next weeks".
This year we have been investing in improving the Instagram experience for people through a greater diversity of devices and networks.
According to the social network of photography par excellence, the number of people accessing Instagram through the web, rather than an application, is increasing. More than 80% of its users are outside the United States, where the cost of the internet and mobile data is sometimes relatively higher.
Instagram also used the occasion to reveal that Stories already has more than 250 million users daily, leaving behind with 166 million users daily Snapchat, which curiously copied the idea of ephemeral content that disappears in 24 hours.
