The security company Checkpoint has recently revealed that it has found the presence of severe ransomware and malware preinstalled on multiple devices from two large mobile companies, that is terrible.
Pre-installed Malware Found On These 38 Android Devices
In the section of mobile devices, Android is presumably the principal target of hackers. We will share with you the device this malware was found on.
Today, malware is one of the biggest plagues in the technological world. Despite all the verification mechanisms of product quality, the truth still remains that some smartphones that hit the market are with pre-installed malware. CheckPoint discovery and reported that this malware is not part of the official Stock ROM but get installed along the distribution chain.
There are 6 cases where this malware was installed directly in the Stock ROM, giving them system privileges this means that in those cases, the Stock firmware must be reinstalled in the smartphone.
From the malware discovered, highlight the popular Loki and Slocker. Slocker is a ransomware that uses AES encryption algorithm to encrypt all files on the device and then demand a ransom. Slocker uses Tor for communications with the C & C server (acronym for “Command & Control”).

It is also known that these devices were at the service of two large companies: one in the area of telecommunications and another multinational in the area of technology.
This is not the first time pre-installed malware on Android devices are discovered, and it worrisome.
