[MT6755] How To Root Gionee M6 And Install Philz Recovery

Root Gionee M6 is now made possible All thanks to Hovatek for porting this Philz recovery for Gionee M6. This device is 5.5-inch with 1920x1080 display powered by the MT6755 (MediaTek Helio P10) SoC and runs on Android 6 Marshmallow, 1.8GHz octa-core processor alongside 4GB of RAM and 13-megapixel rear camera.

Things You Need To Know and Need

How To Flash The Recovery On Your Gionee M6

1. Install the ADB you download above and follow the instruction you see on the screen of the installer. The Adb will create a folder in the C/ drive of your computer


2.  Now extract and copy the downloaded recovery.img into the Adb with fastboot.exe and adb.exe


3. Unlock your Gionee M6 using the guide above


4. Copy the SuperSU to the root of your Gionee M6 storage.


5. Now Connect your device to the PC via USB while switched On and boot it into Fastboot (as instructed in the Bootloader unlock guide; don't forget to re-enable OEM unlocking and USB Debugging).


6. When your device enters Fastboot Mode, flash the Philz recovery by typing this command below then pressing Enter


7. fastboot boot recovery.img


8. Your device will  automatically boot into Philz recovery mode

How To Root Gionee M6

1. Now In the Philz recovery Mode use your Volume buttons to navigate to the storage you copied the SuperSU to.


2. Use the power button to Select and the Install SuperSU


3. Wait awhile for the rooting to complete.


4. If the recovery prompted you to fix root, Select No


5. Reboot your device normally after the root


6. Download Root Checker to confirm Root
