I believe may of your have waited a long time to get the Nougat and would rather take matters into hands. It is great to know that friends at CyanogenMod are here to help. Good news the first build of CM14.1 is now available, and it based on the Android 7.1 Nougat open source code.

At this moment of writing this post only nine different smartphones that currently on CM supported list. You should note that you will need to need to an unlocked bootloader before you can flash the CyanogenMod. Below are the smartphones as follows:

  • Nexus 6P

  • Nexus 5X

  • Xiaomi Mi3w/Xiaomi Mi4

  • LG G3

  • Moto G

  • LG G4

  • Samsung Galaxy S5

  • OnePlus 3

  • ASUS ZenFone 2

Steve Kondik CyanogenMod’s says that they are open to welcome bug reports. However, they are discouraged for missing some features in the new build. For example, Themes aren’t yet available in the CM14.1. Users should expect it later on,  and it will support a larger amount of smartphones.

This definitely for the tinkerers.  Will you be comfortable to load in another ROM on your phone, it will be fun to try the new CM14.1 based on Nougat, trying it on an old device will be cool
