Your advice to use this recovery TWRP 3.0.1-0 ! to install the CM13 Rom

How to Flash The Install CM13 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow On Your Huawei Ascend G8 [GX8].

Step 1 – Download the CM13 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and Google Apps from the links above for your Huawei Ascend G8 [GX8]

Step 2 – If you downloaded the cm13 Rom on your computer you are to send the Rom to the root of your Sdcard but if otherwise you used phone to download copy the Rom to the root of your Sdcard too.

Step 3 – At this point we will advice you make backup of necessary app and file because flashing the Rom will wiped all installed apps or make recovery backup (Very important)

Step 4 – After doing the above turn your phone  off.

Step 5 – Now  boot to Recovery Mode. To do that (Switch ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together)

Step 6 – Once you are in  the Recovery, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset”. Use the Power button to select everything while in the Recovery Mode.

Step 7 – Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition” .

Step 8 – Now this is optional, but it is recommended to perform a wipe of your dalvik cache as well. You will not get into boot loops or any other errors. From recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.

Step 9 – Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.

Step 10 – Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Using your volume keys, navigate to the Android 6.0.1 ROM zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Google Apps: Repeat the above step for the Gapps zip file as well and install it on your phone.

Step 11 – After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu.


Your Huawei Ascend G8 [GX8] will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait. Your Huawei Ascend G8 [GX8] should now have the CM13 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow installed on  it

Temporary Solution ONLY for Huawei G8 (GX8) single SIM !

Revert "Settings -> Sim cards" to "Settings -> Cellular network "

Extract build.prop :

> adb pull system/build.prop

Edit "build.prop" with any text editor :

* remove this line : persist.radio.multisim.config=dsds

* change : ro.telephony.default_network=9,9 -> ro.telephony.default_network=9

* change : ro.telephony.ril.config=simactivation,sim2gsmonly -> ro.telephony.ril.config=simactivation

Put back into your device build.prop :

> adb push build.prop data/local/tmp/
> adb shell
$ su
# mount -o remount,rw /system
# cp -r data/local/tmp/build.prop system/build.prop
# chmod 0644 system/build.prop
# reboot
