How To Root And Install Twrp Recovery On Oneplus 2

We are going to learn how to root OnePlus 2 Android and also how to safe install TWRP recovery on it without a problem.

 Rooting and installing twrp your device gives your this great benefits like flashing custom Roms, creating and retaining backup via recovery, running special apps, free up memory and many other benefits.

In this guide, I would walk you through the process on how to root and install twrp recovery on OnePlus 2 android.

How to Install TWRP Recovery & Root OnePlus 2

1.       Firstly, download ABD/fastboot driver and setup on your computer.

2.       After that, you’ve to unlock the bootloader of your OnePlus 2.
       Check this guide on how to unlock the bootloader of OnePlus 2 device.

3.       Enable USB Debugging mode from the smartphone. Then To Enable USB debugging mode on OnePlus 2, simply go to settings >> developers option and enable from there. If the developer's option isn’t visible, then go to about phone (under settings menu) and locate build number, and tap on it several times, till it notifies that you’re now a developer. This would enable developer’s option. After that, connect your OnePlus 2 to your computer via USB cable.

4.       Now, download the TWRP recovery file from here. Or (Mirror Link).

5.       After that, rename the OnePlus2 TWRP Recovery.img to recovery.img and move to the ADB folder created in step 1.

6.       After that, download SuperSU package from here, and move the zip file to your phone.

7.       Once you’re done, boot your device into fastboot mode. Check this guide to boot OnePlus 2 device to Fastboot mode.

8.       Now, open the ADB folder that you saved the twrp recovery.img, and open command prompt windows by holding shift, then right click on an empty space in the ABD folder, just as seen in the image below.

9.       Once the command prompt windows open, input the below command and click enter to flash the TWRP recovery.

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

10.   Now that you’ve flashed TWRP recovery on your device, then boot to recovery menu so that you can be able to flash the SuperSU file – in other to root your device. Simply input the below command to boot device to recovery mode that is on your computer.

fastboot boot recovery.img

11.   Once your Oneplus 2 is booted to recovery mode, then tap the install button, and flash the SuperSU downloaded in step 6.

12.   Once you’re through, simply reboot your OnePlus 2 smartphone.
